Gina - Monday Update from Brazil
Well I don't have much to say... today was our day off, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach, the sun, and the sand! Now it's McDonalds (yes McDonald) and a movie (Flywheel).
Everyone sends their love, and I'm excited to see what more God is going to do over these next couple of days.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and we are so proud of everyone for all the effort put into this skit. It was an amazing night!!
God Bless you all
Please continue to pray for good health and for our ears and eyes to be open to seeing and hearing where God is calling us!!

Update from the Brazil Crew - SAT. morning

Oi everyone!
I am honestly not sure where to begin and where to end in this e-mail, so I will write some things, but your children can definitely provide more detail when they get home.
Things are going absolutely amazing down here. I had a conversation with Tosha today about the fact that we are leaving in one week and it makes us sad to think about that already. Even though there is a language barrier, we are learning a lot about using nonverbals to get our message across. At our sports camps, we have had about 30-40 people come each day (which was less than we expected), but this has allowed for deeper socailizaion and connection between individuals. Bruce and Lynndell keep encouraging us that as the week continues more and more will show. It was really neat yesterday because after teaching the kids how to play the sport, we take a break to eat lunch and get a nap, and then we go to an open field where we play the sport that we learned in the morning. Well as we were playing, it was neat to see how many individuals were just walking down the street and joined into the games and people that actually stopped their cars or motorcyles to watch us play. How cool!! I don't want to make this to long, but I want to give you a brief run down of how the last two days have gone:
6:30- 2 kids get up and get food from the market with Jeremy
7:00- I wake up all the kids
7:30- breakfast (every day I give them a goal to reach during the day at breakfast)
8:00- clean up (four kids are responsible for washing dishes and tables all day and two are responsible for bathrooms) The remainder of the kids take showers, get ready for the sports camp
9:00-11:00- do instrustions for the sports camp at the church
11:00-11:30- time for partner prayer and individual scripture reading.
11:30-12:00- down time/showers/getting ready for lunch
12:00- lunch (the food here has been WONDERFUL! No one is going hungry!)
12:30-2:30- nap/ shower time
2:30-5:00- sports camp
5:00-6:00- showers/ work on skits/ any thing else that needs to be prepared
6:00- supper
7:00-8:30- we have groups that come almost every evening and we share testimonies and games with them
8:30- whenever- kids will sit outside of the gates if they are not a part of the small group that meets that particular evening and then they will ask to come in and play basketball, soccer, or cards. Sometimes we say yes, sometimes we just need a break!
In the evenings when everyone leaves, we have our group time where we discuss the goal assigned and other things that happened throughout the day. I also provide a brief scripture encouragement, or something that God is laying on m heart!
God is working through these teens... no doubt about it! I can't say enough... thank you thank you thank you for all your prayers and support!
If you want some things to pray for- please pray for Emiley's recovery (she was the only one affected with a stomach bug- but is almost recovered already), and that the bugs and itchiness do not affect us (especially poor Emma who is apparently as sweet inside as out!).
Thank you all again!! :)

Team Arrives:
email from Gina ---
Well we are all here in Brazil... safe and sound. We have several stories already that could be told, but it can all be summed with GOD IS GOOD!!
I give you a few detail from the trip thus far and then your kiddos can fill you in on more later:
So as you know we left at 11:30 yesterday and had a smooth trip down to Baltimore. There were lots of conversation and excitement filling the vans (can you believe that with this group??) :)
Chad got us checked in fairly smoothly (once their computer started to work). Then we went to our gate and sat and ate... and played games... and sat... then changed terminals and finally got on the plane and 5:30... and sat... and sat. Finally our plan flew into the air at 7:00 pm.
Our next flight was suppose to be leaving at 8:45, but by this time we were pretty sure we weren't going to make it so we were praying for delays in Atlanta also. As soon the plane lands, (5 minutes before our next flight is suppose to take off) the announcer says that not only had we landed at gate T05 (right next to our gate T04 for our next flight) but also, he says "there is a group of kids on the plane that will be getting off the flight first to make their connecting flight." What an answer to prayer!!!
Well now we are here in Fortaleza and beyond being tired, we are SUPER excited!! God is going to work in miraculous ways down here! (it's a plus that the weather is so beautiful :)
I'm sorry that this is so short, but we have things to do and places to go, but know that everyone is doing wonderful!
I will try to send out an e-mail about every other day.
Thanks for your prayers
Gina

Philly Walmart Marketing: Seriously What were they THINKING!!
I mean, really? A Tony Romo ad in Philly?
Really?
Right next to Phillies gear?
Really?
Know your audience people.
(If you don’t get it, Philly hates the Cowboys and anyone associated with them).
